This is another Team Rocket CD from the Japanese version of the Pokemon anime. It's a mini-CD which should play just fine on your computer or CD player. There are five tracks:
Rocket Dan Yo Eien Ni (Team Rocket Forever)
Lucky Lucky
Nyaasu No Uta
Rocket Dan Yo Eien Ni- karaoke version
Nyaasu No Uta- karaoke version
Team Rocket Forever is Team Rocket's theme song, which made its dubbed-over and far inferior appearance in the episode The Song of Jigglypuff. Very dramatic, and fun to listen to even if you don't know Japanese. About halfway through there's some semi-rapping on the part of Musashi (Jessie) and Kojiro (James)... something about eggplants... followed by the motto. It's fun! Musashi and Kojiro have gorgeous singing voices that complement each other perfectly, and Nyaasu (Meowth)'s voice is so cute! Their voics are VERY different from the ones used in the dub. Kojiro's voice is deeper and less whiny than James's. Musashi sounds a lot younger than Jessie (ha ha), and Nyaasu's voice is scratchy and cat-like with no accent. Every time I listen to this song I think about how different it is from one of Team Rocket's other songs, Maemuki Rocket Dan: Pokémon Theme. Team Rocket Forever is a kind of pop/rock song is more dramatic and serious, about how they're the stars of this play and tomorrow will be their day for Pokemon. Maemuki Roketto Dan is more funky, and the song is happy and goofy, about how they look to the future after being "blasted off".
Lucky Lucky is Kojiro's song, where he sings about how he met a girl at a club. Then she starts acting nasty, and he gets mad, and she leaves. It's pretty strange, and a little over my head due to the high number of Japanese Pokemon puns. There's a part toward the end where Kojiro is yelling at Lucky, and he spouts Japanese unimaginably fast! This song has a way of getting stuck in your head even if you don't like it that much...
Nyaasu No Uta is Meowth's song, a mangled English version of which occured in the episode Go West Young Meowth. I don't listen to this one much because its sooo sad!!! Nyaasu sings in the blue, blue quiet night about being lonely, and wondering if there's someone else like him somewhere, sitting in the dark, all raggedy-raggedy and playing a guitar. This one is a bit slower than the other two, and so it's more helpful when I'm trying to translate into English (I'm in the process of learning Japanese). But he does pronounce some words differently, and has a habit of inserting "nya" (meow) frequently as he talks.
Then the next two tracks are karaoke versions of Nyaasu No Uta and Rocket Dan Yo Eien Ni. If you have listened to the songs a lot and have the hang of the Japanese, they're fun- and still challenging- to sing along to!
Overall this album is Team Rocket to the core with a little bit of everything! I recommend looking up the translations for these songs if you don't speak Japanese. Team Rocket rules! Ii kanji!
Team Rocket’s rockin’! Even include a couple karaoke tracks at the end for fans to rock out too! (And sing the dub’s version if you don’t speak Japanese!)
