Shout! Factory, in my opinion, rivals Disney when it comes to how they handle thier releases. No matter what the quality, or how easy it is to salvage, they always treat thier master tapes with care, and do everything to make it look as best as they can. This release is no exception. This 3-Disc set contains every episode of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show (discounting the Zelda episodes, though that's mostly because they've stated one of master tapes wasn't given to them when the show's distribution rights changed hands). Unlike previous "Super Show" releases, this set actually includes the live action segments, which beforehand were actually hard to come by. And yes, this also include those nostalgic bumpers, and the promos for the Zelda cartoon (from what I assume are from the episodes' initial airings). The only gripe I have with this release is that the DVD menus only list episode titles by thier cartoon segments, and don't include the names of the live action segments. A minor inconvenience, but nothing too major. All in all, whether you a genuine fan of the show, or you just need the clips for your YTPs, Shout! Factory once again has you covered.
