Ever since I watched Clannad and Clannad After Story, I've loved the music in both of the series, so I decided to get this set of 3 CD's. I can say right now out of the 56 songs, I already recognize (love) 36 songs from the anime series and I believe the rest is from the visual novel game. Magome Togoshi, Shinji Orito, and Jun Maeda have created some of the most amazing music I have ever heard. Words cannot explain how AMAZING the music is.
The one complaint I have to say is that the album song list and booklet is in Japanese (I can't read Japanese) but still, I rate this product a 5/5 stars. It also has music score (in the booklet) so if you know how to play the piano or violin, you can play some of the music of Clannad.
It does not have the Dango Daikazoku song but it has the instrumental version and a different lyrics version too. It does not have the Clannad After Story intro song but it does have the piano version. Other than that, almost every other song heard either in the anime or visual novel is in this CD set. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who loved or at least watched the series. For the price of $49.99 it is definitely worth it.
As Clannad is my top anime of all time, this item is a must and it's exactly what I'm looking for.
The OST is from the visual novel game released in 2004. Not the OST from the anime series released later down the road. I also played the visual novel which I feel in love also.
Be warn buyers expecting soundtrack from the anime only.
Not surprisingly, clannad the soundtrack lives up to the anime itself. Shinji, Magome, and Jun with the help of others completely blow us away with this stunning underrated soundtrack. Though I will say that unfortunately the soundtrack didn't contain the opening to clannad after story (my personal favorite) it still didn't spoil the album for me . If you love the anime, you will definitely love the soundtrack. And for the price of 50 bucks its worth the money! thank you "Studio Key" you have left us with a life changing anime and soundtrack!
I honestly don't want to give this anything less than "I love it" - however, I must.
What I thoroughly enjoyed was the music from the series. I was able to connect a lot of it with some great scenes. Some of the best music has an unusual flavor ... heavy yet hopeful, and mysterious. I struggle for words, but "mystic" is another one. It's easy to feel the music as you listen.
There were a few items, however, on the third CD that didn't quite resonate the same way. Most of the music leans on the classical/new age end of the spectrum, or gives a "casual" flavor. The last few tracks on the third CD don't have the same tone or mood: instead, the final tunes are more of a cross between disco, techno, and pop. While they were not entirely unpleasant, they were definitely different and a noticeable deviation from the rest of the CD. All the same, I also wouldn't say that my time was wasted in hearing the final tracks on the third disk, and still admit I'd have to be in a mood to want to listen to it.
