if u like Loudness or any virtuoso guitar player.. then u shd check this one out.. his guitar tone do reminds me of Michael Schenker.. another legendary guitarist.. Minoru Niihara, Masayoshi Yamashita & Munetaka Higuchi of Loudness made guest appearance here.. fave tracks are ‘steal away’.. ‘ebony eyes’.. ‘show me something good’.. now hoping Minoru Niihara’s solo album, Sly to be rereleased.. 😅😅
In the early to mid 1980's Akira Takasaki was one of the most spectacular guitarists in heavy metal. His early albums with Japan's leading metal band Loudness are still cherished by fans of the era.
This first solo album, originally released in 1982, is much more experimental and stretches well beyond metal. There are fusion sounds here, some pop, and even echoes of Dixie Dregs.
So If you're purely metal-minded, you'd better stick to the Loudness band albums (or Destruction, the heavy solo album by their drummer Munetaka Higuchi). But if you're a bit more open-minded, there is much to enjoy here, especially since Akira laces all songs with his trademark fiery guitar solo's.
