I am extremely satisfied with this CD. Matsuken has got a voice that would make most male popular singers envious. Suave and mellow, 'tis a true pleasure to the ears. And the singer with such a voice does not contemplate wooing like yet another easy-listening Casanova. He interprets the enka-like melancholy and virility so well, without seemingly making any effort nor evoking superfluous nostalgia that would easily turn the whole thing too false and forced.
Love almost all the titles. I also bought the newly released DVD for the stage performance and as an ideal complementary to this audio work. My next purchase would possibly be the singer's album released 20 years before.
