Sure, it's "meant" to be used for dish washing, but we have found it is perfect for that, as well as simple hand washing and general cleaning, because it cleans off grease, grime and dirt from about anything. We like the lemon scent better than the other "flavors". So I ordered a 5 pack of this, and we are now using it in place of those Soft Soap bottles we used to buy. In fact, we just kept the old Soft Soap bottles and we refill them with this Joy Lemon scent, using them in the kitchen and all the bathrooms. It works better than the original Soft Soap, and the price per ounce with Joy Lemon scent cannot be beat.
That said, I should mention we did have a problem with our order. The first order shipment included the 5 Pack of the Joy, along with two other items. That package was so severely damaged in shipment, that UPS never delivered it to our house. They had to scrap some of the items, and send the rest back, soaked in Lemon Joy! Amazon, being the great company it is, as soon as they were made aware of the situation, they immediately shipped a replacement. This time, the order was split up, with one small item being sent via USPS and the other two items send via UPS. When we received the second package, the Lemon Joy had leaked all around the inside of the box. This got Joy on the second item, which was meant to be a gift. The box was wet, but the insides of the box were fine. My thought is that there is a problem with the Joy bottles themselves as none were cracked, or leaking after we washed them off and then let them set on the counter for a day or two. Nothing leaked, and only a few ounces had gotten out. I think the cap is the problem. It is a simple snap up cap, that squeezing the bottle would certainly cause it to pop open. And, were the bottles upside down during shipment, I suspect it possible some could leak out. None of the caps were popped when we opened the box. We did not lose a significant amount of Joy... probably no more than 3-4 ounces total.
My recommendation is you request this order to be shipped separately to avoid the issue I had.
The problem is packaging, or package handling. Not the product itself. I still rate this item as 5 stars for us.
