放送時にたまたまブルーレイで録画していたので、購入するか迷いつつ買ってしまいました。
結果、録画した物より画質・音声とも段違いに良いです。
ＢＳ11放送時にソニーのレコーダーで録画したのですが、、、こんなに違うものかとびっくりしました。

特典としてショートアニメ、キャストとスタッフのコメント充実の冊子が付いています。
昨今はディレクターズカットやオーディオコメンタリティ収録などありますが、そういうものを求めている方には物足りないかと思いますが、私はこの物語が大好きなのでいつでも見返せることが出来るので満足しています。

他のレビューが何故かブルーレイ版？のレビューになってますが、この商品はＤＶＤ4枚組で、しかもリージョン1なので、日本の一般的なプレイヤーでは再生できません。

再生するには、パソコンが、対応のプレイヤーが必要になりますので、ご注意下さい。

TVアニメ、うたわれるもののBlu-rayBOX。
映像は綺麗です。
HDマスターを使用との事でそのままの映像が出ております。
ジャギーは稀に輪郭線が強すぎて見えてしまう事があるものの、基本的には見受けられずとても綺麗です。
ノイズはほとんどなく鮮明でクリアな映像。
シャープさも十分ありかなり強いと感じる事があるくらい、はっきりとした輪郭が保たれています。
細かい箇所の再現性もよく、動きのある戦闘シーンなどでも破綻する事はありません。
TVアニメという事で書き込みのクオリティなどがやや物足りない箇所があるものの、画質という面ではとても満足できる。
ベタ塗りのような映像だからこそ丁寧に再現されているのがよく分かります。
他のBDアニメと比べると十分綺麗な画質だと思います。
作画を考慮せずに画質という箇所だけで言うと★4〜5くらいではないでしょうか。
HDマスターだとこれほど綺麗だと違うが分かる画質。
音は中々よいです。
日本語ステレオ音声で聞きましたが音がクリア。
重低音は控えめですが、高音がとても綺麗に出ていて通る音になっています。
ステレオ音声ですのでサラウンド感はありませんが、十分臨場感が伝わる音。
セリフ部分もクリアで聞き取りにくい箇所はほとんどありませんでした。
原音を忠実に再現した音ではないでしょうか。
英語音声は5.1chという事なので軽く聞いてみましたが、それなりにサラウンド感は伝わります。
ただ音全体がぼんやりブレる感じがするので、個人的には日本語ステレオ音声のほうが好みでした。
内容は独自の世界で繰り広げられる戦国ファンタジーアニメ。
PCゲームが原作だそうですが、未プレイなので初見です。
シリアスな展開の多いアニメになっています。
和風テイストのある独特な世界を舞台にしており、登場人物、地名など独特な名称が付いています。
ですので、少し分かりにくさがあるかもしれません。
また序盤〜中盤と、終盤の展開が一気にガラッと変わるのが印象的でした。
序盤〜は戦国アニメのような国取り合戦なのですが、終盤はSFテイストが入ってきて違うジャンルに。
個人的には序盤〜の展開が好きでしたので、終盤は微妙でした。
また終盤は急速に展開していくので置いてけぼりをくらう事も。
ラストシーンはよかったです。
序盤〜中盤が★5つ、終盤が★2つ、ラストは★5つといった感じです。
迫力のある戦闘シーンもよかったですし、一部で使用されていたCGも違和感なく中々。
2クールと長めの作品ですが、全体を通して楽しむ事はできました。
特典は各ディスクにそれぞれ収録されています。
HD画質でショートエピソード、PV、ノンテロップOP/ED、SD画質で解説ムービー、エクストラトレーラー、告知映像集など。
特にショートエピソードは力が入っておりよかったです。
本編がシリアスな分、コメディタッチな笑い要素がこちらに詰め込まれております。
DVD-BOXと同じ特典だそうですが、一部HD画質なので満足できます。
他にBOX内には76ページと豪華なブックレット、DVDジャケット絵柄のイラストカード8枚など封入されています。
画質/音質は十分満足できる出来ですし、特典もよいですので、作品のファンなら是非。

近所のレンタル屋に置いてなかったが、どうしても見たくて購入しようと。
国内版は高くて手が出ないので、北米版を購入しました。※ＰＣで視聴。
OPとEDのテロップが英語なだけで、音声→日本語、字幕→切にすればあとは何ら変わりません。
内容的には、ゲームをプレイ済前提として作られているように思えました。
が、ゲームより分かりやすい！という場面もあったので、ゲームをプレイして面白いと感じた方はアニメも是非。

※ケース内の一部が割れていたので、そういった事を気にする方は国内版を買われると良いと思います。高いですが。

I was a little Hesitant to get the blu-ray version as I know that many fake copies are being sold as legit for steep pricing like this for other products and I have been burned before, but the one being sold here is the real deal and was brand new. It's a real shame that this series was never released on blu-ray for the USA. I just don't get it. They already have the English dub/Subtitles that was made for the DVD, and the blu-ray's were clearly made for the Japanese release, so why not marry the two, I just don't get it, especially when they are releasing the newer series that continue the story on blu-ray.

Anyway, I knew what I would be getting would not have any English dub or subtitles, which is fine as my goal is to have it as a collectors item, as well as rip the files to my media server, where I can then dub the audio and subtitles in from the DVD version. It will take a bit of work, but should work out fine.

While I did not think to take pictures and I did not want to touch them, each disc also came with a set of post cards and an advertisement for one of Suara's concerts (The main singer for many of the Anime's songs) which is of course now long since over, but still neat to see that advertisement in there. I took a brief look at the post cards and they were a neat little extra. There are also some special features on these which is the one thing I love about the Japanese versions. Most of these features are never included on the US releases. I will need to transcribe them to understand it and add subtitles, but that's fine.

Despite being sent from Japan, I was very surprised how good it's condition was and how fast it got here. It did take a couple of weeks, but it was brand new, still sealed, and they shipped it in a box which had the set shrink wrapped around a piece of cardboard to keep it from moving and keep it away from most of the sides of the box, so it arrived in perfect condition. I am SUPER happy to finally own this gem of a series on Blu-Ray, even if it's not the US version.

As for reviewing the series itself, it's not a series for everyone. If you are expecting huge battles with major action, look elsewhere. That is not what this series is about. This series is for those that enjoy the drama and romance of anime mostly. (Like "Spice and Wolf") It's one of the first anime's I ever watched when I started getting into the genera way back when, so it has been a while since I've seen it, but I do remember loving it. I am happy to finally own this on blu-ray!

Finally adding the utawarerumono anime to my collection is a dream come true! It's such a good fun show, and a lovely introduction to the series if you've never played the games (which I highly recommend btw)

Don't want to give away the twist even though this is quite an old title but it's nice being able to watch one of my favorite anime from before the "great isekai anime explosion." It's a good story about nation building with a bit of a twist; a twist modern anime still makes good use of.

More importantly, this was one of my favorite anime in high school and tend to recommend it to my students BUT I could never remember the name. It's nice being able to pull out the DVD case and say "this, I recommend you try this if you like [reason]."
