Manga and anime abound with cute high school girls in sailor suits, but I've yet to encounter any quite like Suzumiya Haruhi.
And this Figma figure (my first) is a nigh perfect representation of her, and thanks to the (Figma standard) excellent articulation and extra faces and hands (geez, compound sentence much?), she can be displayed in virtually any pose desired, whether from the anime or one's own imagination, either on her own (handy for multi-chara setups) or supported by the provided stand's articulated arm (a Figma exclusive, apparently, but then, I've not got my Figma-like Fraulein Revoltech bunny Haruhi yet).
It should be noted, given the price, that Haruhi-chan stands only about 6.5", but this is more than made up for by the superb detailing and precision paint job (both nicely exemplified by her tiny belt buckle and arm band baby pin).
It's also worth mentioning that, contrary to certain customer reviews, Figma's figures are quite robust, and the soft PVC used for the thinner elements, like Haruhi's hair ribbon and bandana knot ends, makes snapping them off unlikely, even from a fall of several feet onto a hard floor (as I inadvertently verified just this morning; sorry about that, Yuki-chan!).
In short (hah!), if you're a Haruhi fan, you will want this, but fair warning: once you see her, you'll probably want Mikuru and Yuki, too, and Kyon and Itsuki (be a shame not to have the whole SOS Brigade), not to mention Ryoko Asakura, Tsuruya-san, middle school and alternate time-line Haruhi, Battle Waitress Mikuru, adult Mikuru, cheerleader Miruku--ahem!
Well, gang, time to go; Haruhi's looking a little bored with her current pose, and a bored Haruhi is a very, very bad thing--'sides, sounds like my SOS-1 Haruhi Robo just got here (bunny Haruhi with a custom combat exoskeleton, joy!), so,
See you in my next review! (but what to review, hmm... )
