When I first heard the Marchen cd I instantaneously fell in love with the music. I had watched several Sound Horizon concerts on Youtube and thought that this concert would be as awesome as the others. I was a bit disappointed by the concert I got. First off, there was no encore like in other concert dvds. Another thing was I hated how every time Elise sung the dvd would cut from the concert to a cgi Elise. I felt that this disrupted the flow of the concert. There are also several times in the dvd that made it blatantly clear that they had taken footage from more then one concert. The most noticeable was during the 'revenge' parts when the singer would first be seen without a mask but in the next scene, be seen with one. It proved to be very distracting. But the biggest disappointment. however, was editing out the reaction of the audience to make the concert dvd seem more like a movie. I had always felt the reaction of the audience is what makes a show come to life. To edit that out made the entire Marchen concert seem dead (no pun intended). However, it wasn't all bad. The singers were awesome as usual and Revo somehow managed to make a concert with what seemed liked almost no props. Also, Its worth mentioning the awesome backup dancers/singers that didn't only dance but played just about every inanimate object in the concert (from tables and windows to a wagon even!). It actually made for some funny moments in the concert. With that being said, Marchen may not be the best Sound Horizon concert I've seen but its got a feel to it that's unmistakeably Sound Horizon. And if you manage to overlook it's flaws, it's still a great concert.
