I bought the 1988 edition when it was first published and referenced it constantly for over a decade. I found the sections pertaining to fishing and to camping to be particularly useful and very comprehensive. At some point, I loaned my original out and it was never returned so I recently replaced it with a used copy. As other reviewers have pointed out, there are sections of it that are out-dated and no longer relevant but I would still recommend this book to anyone interested in the outdoors (hunting, camping, fishing) because there are essential basics presented in this book that do not become obsolete. For the going price of a used book, I'd say it cannot be beat.
