Ａｋｉｋｏは日本人の両親を持つ､アメリカに住む女の子。物語はある日Ａｋｉｋｏが切手も差出人もない手紙を受け取る事から始まる。それには､｢今夜８時に迎えに行きます。ベッドルームの窓の外で会いましょう。歯ブラシを忘れないように」とだけ書いてあった。
惑星スモーに連れて行かれたAkikoは、王様から､魔女に誘拐されたプリンスを救うため、レスキューチームのリーダーに任命される。Akikoは学校で委員になるのもいやなぐらい責任のある立場が大嫌いなのに!
義足で馬面のスパックラー､彼の作品であり相棒であるロボットギャックス､不思議な言葉を話す不思議な生き物プー､彼の言葉を理解する博士､ミスタービーバとの､冒険が始まる。

My 10 year old daughter read this herself, and she's a great reader and everything, she just doesn't like reading anything other than graphic novels. I feel like this was the perfect transition book between a small-print novel and a graphic novel, because there were short chapters and pictures every two to three pages. Also, it was hilarious. I read the last couple of chapters out loud to my daughter - I didn't know what was going on, but I was still laughing out loud. And I tend to not like science fiction very much, and she definitely doesn't either. HIGHLY recommend!

My 6 year old son is really enjoying this series. I think it's very inventive and gives him a great opportunity to use his imagination. He has been building the robot Gax out of Legos and Gears since he began the books. He finishes the books really quickly though. So I have found either kindle editions or library borrowing is best for us.
That being said, I'd like the language to be cleaned up a bit, nothing obscene but certainly not we model at home.
Bottom line: He loves it and I like to see him into reading. We will purchase more.
