Final Fantasy V: Dear Friends is an arranged album, containing a selection of musical tracks from the game, arranged with a mix of live instruments, synth instruments and a few vocals on some tracks. The songs really come alive on this album and you get a great idea of what Nobuo Uematsu had in mind when he wrote the original songs. Now freed from the restraints of a SNES game cartridge, the songs have evolved into something much more memorable and unique. While the songs are not as consistent or beautiful throughout as Final Fantasy IV's Celtic Moon is, the album is still a worthy addition to any Final Fantasy music collection. My favorite tracks are 3, 4, 6, 13 and 14.
