グラミー賞を受賞したギタリスト。かなりのベテランで、現在シカゴブルーズのキング的存在。スタジオものはかなりのブランクがあったのだがカムバック作品な９１年のアルバム。ゲストが豪華なようだが、一番燃えてるのはやはりガイ本人。フィンガーピッキングだと思われるが非常に細かいニュアンス＆ワイルドなパワーを表現できている。ラストのナンバー『Rememberin' Stevie』における７分近い演奏はビタースィートな味わいが最高。だれにもまねできない個性豊かなチョーキング表現がここにある。スティーブをなくした深い悲しみがラストナンバーには込められている。　　　１０点中９点

かつてＫ・リチャーズは彼のアイドル、チャックベリーについて「奴のライブに満足したことは一度もなかったんだ！」と言って仲間を集めてまともなコンサートを実現すべく一肌脱いだことがあった。これはヘイル！ヘイル！ロックンロールとして記録に残されているが、これをＣ・ベリー→バディ、Ｋ・リチャーズ→Ｅ・クラプトン、Ｊ・ベック等、奴のライブ→彼のスタジオ作品、ヘイル！ヘイル！ロックンロール→本作、という風に丸々置き換えられるんではなかろうか。事実、彼のピークは本作から所属したシルバートーンレコーズの初期数作になると思います。今回のエクスパンデッドは２曲追加は勿論ですが、何といってもリマスター音質がとてもイイ！発売当時の音質はかなりハードエッジで硬質なハードロック向きの音だったためハードロックも割とよく聴く私でさえ一枚通して聴くとかなり疲れるものでした。しかし今回のリマスターで低音がとても豊かになり、音の厚みが増した結果、全体のバランスがとてもよくなりました。特にリッチーヘイワード（リトルフィート）のドラムが素晴らしく良く聴こえます。音にこだわる方で本作を気に入っていた方は買い直しの価値があると思いますよ。

バディのシャウトとスクイーズなギターを聴いてください。

バディの1991年のアルバムです。バディはもちろんブルースギタリストですが、迫力があり、感情があふれるボーカルも良いです。4曲目の「マスタング・サリー」では、バディのボーカルは爆発、Ｊベックのカッコイイーギターも最高の乗りで、ぴったりはまっています。

亡くなったＳレイボーンにささげる「Rememberin’ Stevie」も聴き所です。にじみ出てくるギターフレーズの一音一音がバディガイならではという感じです。ブルース好きの方にお勧めです。

バディは気ムラなのか、緊張感が続かないのでしょう。
以前、ジュニア・ウェルズと来日したときも観客のウィスキーで
ベロンベロン、大変なステージでした。マアそれはそれでシカゴの
バーでやってるような雰囲気になって良かったけど・・・
アルバムとなるとなかなか、パワーを持続できないようです。
ほとんどスタジオライブのようにワンテイク録音と思えます。
このアルバムはヒステリックなボーカルを中心に、バディの神髄を
余すことなく、またダレることなく全曲乗り切っています。
二曲目、四曲目、六曲目でマーク・ノップラー、ジェフ・ベック、
エリック・クラプトンにギターを任せてボーカルに徹しています。
これがまた、いい。
文句なく、バディのベストアルバムでしょう。<!BR>ブルーズファンなら、コレクトしておきましょう。

このアルバムにはジェフ・ベック（４曲目）やらクラプトン（６曲目）やら、そうそうたるメンバーが参加してギタリスト競演の様相もありますが、１曲目冒頭のバデ・ガイ自身による強力なギターソロは筆舌に尽くしがたいです。現役最高峰ブルース・ギタリストの面目躍如です。
1936年生まれのバデ・ガイは来年７０歳！このアルバムは1991年発売（2005年盤はリニューアルリリース）なので５５歳ごろの作品ですが、その歌声も充実しまくり！このアグレッシブさが、後輩ギタリストたちを惹きつけ続ける魅力なんだろうなと思います。このアルバムから１５年経っても、現役バリバリだというバデ・ガイ。暑い夏に熱くなれる１枚だと思います！

Not much of a review writer. I buy too many records to review them all. I am moved to encourage you to remove any hesitation any of you may in buying this pressing. It is masterful. Great production. Great mix. Great quality. I have hundreds of blues records from all genres and eras. I am obsessed with all records released on the Alligator records label. All that to say, this is cream that rises to the top. Not the very top. That is reserved for Texas Flood and robert johnson. But it stands above my other BG platters and up there with some of the best blues records that i have ever heard. Every instrument stands out clearly. Definitely a great one to have on vinyl.

The number of blues, and other, guitarists, that have been inspired by Buddy Guy are only limited by the number that have been inspired by that triumvirate of 'brothers' King; Freddie, Albert and BB; just as Guy was.

You will hear just about everything you need to know about playing electric guitar in a meaningful way. Not just the histrionics of van Halen or Vai or the adherents of 'thrash'.
You will hear what Hendrix heard, the need to develop jazz in a way that jazz had not been developed; in a blues environment. Davies had, perhaps, sought to do this with 'The Birth of the Cool' or 'A Kind of Blue' but think what Hendirix might have made of it!

Un disco fantastico, con las colaboraciones de JEFF BECK, ERIC CLAPTON Y MARK KNOPFLER BUDDY GUY imprime su estilo energetico que lo caracteriza y hace un disco agradable de de blues muy electrico y modernono hace falta mencionar que contiene estupendos solos de guitarra con esos invitados muy recomendable

Full gamut of electric blues here, the return of classic Buddy Guy.
From smoldering to pyrotechnics, all of these guitarists turn in virtuoso performances , with plenty of flash, but are always there for the song.
I've read some critics of Jeff Beck's contribution on this album, and I disagree.
Of the Clapton, Beck and Page Yard bird triplets, when Beck is on, he's the best.
For me, was most definitely on for this.
Can't recommend this remastered version highly enough, along with Room Full of Blues "Turn It Up!", and Clapton's "From the Cradle", this is one of my desert island picks.
You should hear this.

Mein erstes Buddy Guy Vinyl und aus der Zeit mein Favorit, was Studioalben angeht, live natürlich Live at the Checkerboard von 1979 mein Favorit aus der Zeit und nicht etwa wie irgendein selbsternannter Buddy Guy Kenner meinte das More than Rain Studioalbum, welches ich eher so lala finde...Damn right..., der Song, bei dem Buddy Guy mit Kopfstimme richtig aus sich heraus schreit, wie man das von ihm nur allzu gut kennt, besaonders eindruckvolles Titel- Stück, insgesamt klasse Album und nunmehr als CD nicht nur erschwinglich sondern LÄCHERLICH GÜNSTIG; REGFELRECHT VERRAMSCHT.Mir solols recht sein mit leichtem Magengrummeln für Mangel an Respekt wegen zu geringer Kosten bei 1 Cent Angebotspreis. Asche auf mein Haupt, der Preis freut mich nämlich trotzdem, weil ich mir dann mehr von Buddy Guy besorgen kann. erst wenn man alle Songs von einem Künstler hat, kann man mit Bestellen absolut befriedet aufhören, was bei Buddy Guy ganz schön dauern kann, zumal er noch immer produktiv ist und immer wieder altes Material auftaucht, wobei mir vom Sound her quälend schlechte Aufnahmen aus seiner frühen Schaffensperiode vollkommen uninteressant scheinen vgl. Collection First time I met the blues mit alten geradezu antiken Buddy Guy Aufnahmen, die kaum einen Gewinn darstellen, hört man sich diese Songs erst mal an, wenn man sie sich gekauft hat.
