92歳の義父がデイサービスでの待ち時間にキンドルを利用。
鞄の中に入れて持ち運ぶので、カバーをつけました。

手になじむ仕様で、どこでも持ち歩くのに便利そうです。上品なので、いやがらずに使ってくれてます。
しっかりしたつくりなので、にぎる力が弱っていても落とさずに持てて、家中持ち歩いては使っているようです。

仕事やプライベートでkindleを持ち歩くのでカバーを購入しようと検討して、こちらを購入しました。

条件としては、以下の通りです。

・カバンに無造作に入れてもkindleが傷つかないもの
・片手で持っても、重くないもの
・デザイン

革製のものや類するものも多くありましたが、自身は手に汗をかきやすく、跡がつくのが嫌だったので、
ファブリック系のもので探しました。

実際に使用して半年ほど経ちますが、大変気に入って使っています。

まず、カバーとしての堅牢性ですがカバンの中で雑に扱っていても、特に気にならないくらい
しっかりとカバーしてくれています。
また、ファブリック的なもちざわりで、持っていて安定もしてますし、心地良いです。

実は、購入時に結構悩んだのが、閉じた際に、自動で電源がオフにならない点。

そこまで、開閉を頻繁にしないだろうなと思っていたのですが、
電車の乗り換え等のタイミングで、いちいちオフにしたりするのが少し面倒でした。
ただ、kindleの充電の持ちを考えると、短時間であれば、別に消さなくても良いと、
今では気にしてません。

デザインも手帳のようで、愛着も出てくる感じです。

片手でKindleが読めるため、電車の中などでの使用感がとてもよい。
しっかりした作りで安定感もあり、半年使っていてもどこにも損傷がない。
他の方々のレビューを見てビックリ、、、当たり外れがあるのかもしれないが、中には私が購入したようなアタリもあると思われる。

Kindle本体を固定するバンドの部分が取り付けるときにすぐに剝がれました。
また、ずっと固定しているとKindle本体に張り付いてボロボロになっています。
買ってから1か月位で劣化が早いです。
付けたり外したりを繰り返すわけではありませんが、気になります。

I wasn't sure whether or not the 4 elastic/pleather corner strips would sufficiently hold the Kindle in place, but they work like a charm. The case itself is nice and sturdy. The hand grip (and entire inside of case) is soft and not too tight (although I do have small hands). I wasn't sure I'd even use the hand grip but I do, frequently. It's a nice plus. Zero signs of wear and tear despite over a month of daily usage - and most of that was outside in high-humidity conditions (ie. sweaty hands). Superb value for the money.

Really nice cover! it fits the Kindle paperwhite perfectly, the material is nice and smooth and the hand strap is really convenient! the cover is not too big but still protects the kindle just fine. I would really recommend it!

I read all the "not so favorable" reviews first and thought twice before I ordered it. But I liked the style and concept so I decided to go for it. I am very pleased I did.

What's it made of: It's not made of leather. No where in the product description does it claim to made of any leather product. It specifically states in the product description "Beige Atlas is made of canvas in a sharp two-toned design, a stylish fabric exterior with soft, microsuede lining". It does feel and looks like a very durable product and does not in anyway feel or look like cardboard.

The fit: It fits the Kindle Touch snuggly and securely. I can't say how other Kindles would fit. The cover folds back nicely and the hand strap does eliminate some fatigue after you hold it the regular way for a while.

The smell: I had to hold it practically up to my nose before I smelled anything and yes there is a chemical smell. I thought it reminded me of a box of a new pair of shoes.

The price: I would have loved this to be below the $20 price point, but if you compare it to like items, it is reasonably price (I paid $29.99).

The Straps: Reviewers say the Four built-in, high-grade elastic straps take away from your reading experience. After about 2 seconds you don't even see them anymore. They do not, in any way, obstruct or distract you during reading.

Before I bought this product, I did go to BestBuy to look at the official Amazon Kindle Cover. It really does look cheap compared to this cover now that I have it to compare it to. One reviewer even said that it didn't have air holes in the back for it to breath. Well, even the official Amazon Kindle cover doesn't have air holes in it's cover. Plus the Amazon cover doesn't have anything to hold the cover close.

Conclusion: I know a person shouldn't have to go through all these decisions to decide on such a simple thing like a cover. But $29.99 is a lot of money to me and I wanted to feel good about my decision, which I do and think you will too.

I just about went crazy with all the kindle cover options. Finally settled with this one and am very happy with it. Doesn't add too much weight, which is important if you're carrying it around a lot. Also, the design is great because when it's folded back, it makes a little ridge on the right that makes holding it easy. Read a lot in bed, too, and the cover is easy to hold--doesn't add much extra width around it. I just make an L-shape with my index finger and thumb and rest it in the L while the other three fingers support it from the back. And it's nice and sturdy. I've had it and used it several time during the day for the last three months and it doesn't show any wear where it's been folded. A great product for a great price.

UPDATE August 2013. So I've had the case now for 18 months and use it almost daily. By use, I mean that it's always in my purse, tote, or backpack when I'm not reading it. It gets a lot of wear and tear chances because I don't baby it. So far, unlike other reviewers I can say that mine (charcoal) never had a bad smell and hopefully any of those problems have been solved by the company for those who did have this problem. Also, one video reviewer wondered if the elastic strap would lose some of its stretch. It hasn't one bit. Still holds my Kindle Touch in nice and snug. Also, I use the strap on the back that fits over the hand since I use my Kindle a lot on the bus. I never have to worry about it slipping out of my hands. Also, I like to read in bed on my back and the strap helps keep it tight to my hand, and I find it very comfortable. No problem either with it being too heavy or bulky ever. When I bought it, I wondered if folding it back and forth would weaken the "binding" edge, but it hasn't at all. There's only one thing that shows wear--all the edges have lost the grey color (maybe about a 1/4 of an inch at each corner), but are still perfectly tight, tough and protective. Personally, I don't care if it doesn't look like new. It functions like the day I bought it. Worth the price.
