Underrated artist. Definitely a "grower"... Introspective, reflective minus the usual mawkish, self-centered goop common in this genre. Also free of the tedious "popular" themes while remaining relevant.

Colin Devlin is a bit like The Blue Nile, he makes infrequent releases but when he does you cannot help but sit up and listen. 'Democracy of one' was some 8 years ago and now we have 'High Point' which is well named. Colin has a great voice, matched with great songs that are often sublime.

It's criminal that he isn't more widely known but he's a wonderful gift to these ears.

You could do a lot worse than check out this album and then delve into his back catalogue.

You won't be disappointed.
